Balloon or no balloon?
Compare the same loan with and without a balloon: the monthly repayment, what you still owe at the end and the extra interest.
What these numbers mean
- The big number is how much more interest you pay in total if you choose a balloon.
- Monthly repayment shows how much lower each repayment is with the balloon.
- Balloon owed at the end is the lump sum you still need to pay, or refinance, when the term ends.
- Total paid adds up every repayment plus the balloon.
Good to know
- Both options use the same amount, rate and term. Fees are not included.
- A balloon lowers each repayment but you still owe it at the end, and you pay interest on it for the whole term.
- This is a guide only, not a quote, an offer of finance, a borrowing limit or financial, legal or tax advice.
