Payroll gap calculator
Wages go out before customers pay. See how much cash it takes to cover that wait, and how much of it your bank balance already covers.
What these numbers mean
- The big number is the gap: wages you pay before customers pay, minus your cash on hand.
- Wages paid before customers pay is your monthly wages times the months you wait to be paid.
- If there is no gap, the result shows what is left over. See working capital.
Good to know
- A month is taken as 365 / 12 days, so 30 days is a little under one month of wages.
- Only wages are counted. Super or pension contributions, payroll tax, rent and suppliers add to the cash you need.
- It assumes customers pay on the same timing every month and that the cash on hand is free to use for wages.
- This is a guide only, not a quote, an offer of finance, a borrowing limit or financial, legal or tax advice.
