Livestock purchase planner
Buying stock to grow out or trade? Add up the purchase, running costs and finance, and see the margin at your expected sale price.
What these numbers mean
- The big number is your expected margin: expected sale proceeds minus all costs.
- Total cost adds the purchase cost, extra costs and finance interest.
- Finance interest is the interest on the purchase cost for the months you hold the stock.
- Margin per head spreads the margin across each animal.
Good to know
- Finance interest is simple interest on the purchase cost for the months held. Extra costs are not financed here.
- The sale price is your own estimate. Prices, weights and deaths can change the real result.
- Selling costs such as commission, levies and freight to sale are not included unless you add them to the extra costs.
- This is a guide only, not a quote, an offer of finance, a borrowing limit or financial, legal or tax advice.
